This project was inspired by my summer job in the oil fields of Northern Alberta (Canada). I wanted to explore the takeover of man made resources onto the wild Northern Canadian landscape. I felt conflicted during my work there as my morals were working hard against the idea of this type of work, that which many people find to be honest stable income. I wanted this conflict of nature and man-made to present itself in this series. One sees the man-made creeping in and stripping the wilderness from its former beauty into its new form, unrecognizable. The voyage through this series begins with the absorption of the artificial and by the end of the journey proposes the question of whether what lies beyond will remain or, like its former counterpart, become unrecognizable.
